Forgotten Entire

Forgotten Entire
by Richard Stephen

Our love did die
a most terrible death,
I wept in pained silence
as it drew its last breath.

With icy hand
she still holds my heart.
Her indifference and silence,
they tear it apart.

Does she resent me
or even care?
This is not the burden
most difficult to bear.

Nor that her love
is no longer afire,
but that we and I
are forgotten entire.
